About Me

Jim Roper has the technical knowledge that comes from extensive banking experience, but he maintains a steadfast focus on the most meaningful aspect of the job – personal service.

“Helping my customers is the best part of what I do,” Jim said. “Banking Texas Style is about being able to offer one-on-one service to our customers. It’s important to know everything about our products and to have the ability to tie them together. Every relationship is different and each one requires a different mindset!”

Jim joined CBTx in February 2009, after working for a larger regional bank. Now branch manager at Lufkin’s South First Banking Center, he is proud to use his business banking skills to help his hometown grow.

“I was born in Lufkin and I know how this community helps people and gives back,” he said.

Jim attended Lufkin High School, earned a BBA from Stephen F. Austin State University and graduated from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking. He is involved with the Lufkin Host Lions Club and the Z&OO Railroad, and he attends First Methodist Church. He and his wife, Angie, have one son, Kyle.
