About Me

After almost four decades in the banking industry, Steve Beaver has learned a lot about how to be successful. His most important lesson: you can’t go wrong with The Golden Rule. “I go the extra mile for my customers because that is how I would want to be treated from my banker,” Beaver said. “That’s why maintaining a positive attitude is just as important as having competitive products and services.”

Beaver had been president of the First National Bank of Emory for more than 30 years when CBTx bought it in 2016. As market president, he helps plan, organize and provide direction for Banking Centers in Emory, Alba and Roxton.

A native of Bonham, Beaver earned his bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University and graduated from the Bank Operations Institute at ETSU and the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. Beaver is a member of the Emory Baptist Church. He enjoys golfing in his spare time.
