Banking is in Cody Beaver’s blood, and he takes ‘Banking Texas Style’ seriously.

“Texas is known as the “friendliest” state, so I would have to say the definition of ‘Banking Texas Style’ means banking with the most genuinely friendly people you will ever meet,” he said. “I don’t ever want a customer to walk in or out of my office feeling intimidated or embarrassed or even foolish. Being genuine and understanding right from the start goes a long way.”

Beaver was inspired to go into banking by his grandfather, a lifelong banker with more than 50 years in the industry. Cody had more than 10 years of experience when he joined the CBTx family in 2016, after CBTx purchased The First National Bank of Emory. “My favorite part of my job is meeting new people and helping them through their financing process,” he said. “It’s always rewarding when a customer sincerely tells you how much he or she appreciates you.”

Beaver was born in Greenville but grew up in Emory. He graduated from Texas A&M Commerce in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Cody and his wife have a young son and are members of the Brashear Baptist Church. In his spare time, Beaver enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and fishing.

I worked in service for a local propane company in Emory

Who is the most famous person you’ve ever met?

I’d have to say Nolan Ryan. I met him at the Emory Dairy Queen when I was kid.

What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to all kinds but mostly country music.
