Everything is bigger in Texas, especially Carlos Palomo’s determination to help his customers. “Banking Texas Style means the bank takes a bigger initiative in customer satisfaction and community service,” he said. “The customers motivate me to go the extra mile. The appreciation they show and smiles on their faces when we are able to help make it all worth it.”

Carlos has been with CBTx for over a fifteen years. He began his career as a part-time teller and worked his way up to branch manager of the Banking Center at Stephen F. Austin State University, then credit analyst. He now serves as VP/Commercial Loan Officer at the Main Banking Center.

A native of Diboll, he earned his bachelor’s in finance and his MBA from SFA. He is an active member in his community, currently serving as President of CASA of Deep East Texas and sitting on several boards including the Nacogdoches Education Foundation and Better Together.

Carlos and his wife a daughter and two sons, Carsyn, Caleb, and Cruz. They also have a Golden Doodle named Zuma. When he isn’t spending time with his family, he enjoys playing sports or anything outdoors.

What was the first job you ever had?

I sacked groceries at the local Brookshire’s when I was 16.

Who would you consider to be your hero?

My mom because of all the sacrifices she made to give me all the things she didn’t have and for pushing me to make the most out of the opportunities I have been blessed with.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a professional baseball player.
